Phonics

We use an approach called synthetic phonics.

Phonics will be taught in such a way that a child will learn each phoneme in order to be able to blend and segment words. e.g. c a t rather that recognising c at.

To help support your child's learning at home, I have created (with the children in my class) small video clips. These show the sound, action, letter and picture correspondence.

The phonemes (sounds) /graphemes (written letters) are placed into 7 groups.

Below you can each of them in their groups. Click on the letter shape to download a video clip.
